Glass Cleaning Tips

Cleaning glass requires a particular care and, specially the need to avoid elbow grease. But this happens because we follow a weekly cleaning constant, finding ourselves to use expensive products and sometimes carcinogenic to wipe away the dirt from the glass. Detergents prepared by remedies and products , however, are one of the most recommended and  more constant cleaning. Let’s try to prepare homemade detergent with natural products and find out how to proceed in cleaning our windows.

How to clean the windows with newspaper

The use of newspapers, helps to remove all traces of dirt and especially those annoying strips remaining on the glass after cleaning it with a dry cloth. Some of us fear that the ink of the newspaper can spread on glass, but it does not. If you do not like to clean with the newspapers, microfibre cloths are an excellent alternative: do not scratch, do not leave “fluff” and you can reuse them several times since they are washable.

How to clean the glass with vinegar

Vinegar is an excellent remedy to clean the glass: it is a degreasing and, above all, its natural. Mix water and white vinegar in equal parts and put it in a spray bottle. It is not recommended to use vinegar alone, because by the time its acidity could create an opaque halo on the glass.

If, the windows are very dirty, you can add water and vinegar with 1/2 teaspoon of dish detergent to the solution. Vinegar can have a strong odor on first use, but will evaporate within minutes.

How to clean the glass with lemon

Such as vinegar, lemon juice also contains acidic substances, and is therefore effective in cleaning glass. Add 3 tablespoons of lemon juice in a spray bottle and fill the bottle with water. Spray the mixture directly on the glass and clean it with some newspaper or a microfiber cloth. Lemon juice is not only an excellent degreaser, but also works as a deodorant for the room.

How to clean the glass with alcohol

Alcohol is a disinfectant and can also be used for absolute cleaning the glass. It leaves no residue or streaks and you can spray alcohol directly on the glass. And proceed in cleaning the glass with a microfiber cloth or a sheet of newspaper.
